This is a photo of a cottage at Cottonwood Drive on Conesus Lake NY circa 1960. Edith Lemen Pullen would rent this cottage from a former teacher of hers from Dansville. Edith and her daughters would spend some of their summers here. Edith was Miss Long Point in 1936.

The home was unique because it had both indoor plumbing and a manual water pump out-back. It had both a fully electric stove with built-in pressure cooker and a wood cooking stove. It had both an electric refrigerator and a real ice box with ice delivered twice a week. There was an Edison Victrola with a chest full of music cylinders. There was a downstairs porch with swings and indoor bedrooms and a huge 2nd floor screened porch which all faced the sunrise. Click the image to enlarge.
